The Municipality of Buruanga received a certificate of recognition as one of the two municipalities in Region VI to be shortlisted as National Finalist for the SubayBAYANI Awards of the DILG. The recognition ceremony was held at Sequioa Hotel Manila Bay, Parañaque on November 16, 2023 which was attended by Mayor Concepcion Labindao, LGOO VI Leda Cenon and Engr. Mariel Angel.

The SubaBAYANI Awards aim to acknowledge individuals and LGUs that have demonstrated exceptional acts of service and commitment in promoting transparency and accountability in the implementation and management of local projects through the SubayBAYAN Portal.
