On November 16, 2023, LGU Buruanga, together with two other LGUs in Region VI, were recognized for completing the Utility of the Future (UoF) technical assistance of the DILG in partnership with World Bank. The graduation ceremony was part of the DILG-led conference- “Kwentong Tagumpay: Innovative Practices in Local Infrastructure Governance” held at Sequioa Hotel, Parañaque.

In behalf of the LGU, Mayor Concepcion P. Labindao, LGOO VI Leda Cenon, Engr. Mariel Angel and MEEDO Lolita Fernando accepted the plaque of recognition.

Through the UoF Program, the pre-identified LGUs are provided technical assistance, such as, performance assessment, benchmarking and improvement planning of LGU-run water utilities. The initiative is part of World Bank’s vision of transformative efforts in water utility performance and water supply and sanitation delivery.
